Getting ready for SNE and SPO

In a little over a month I'll be on my way to Minnesotta to get ready for another Catholic bootcamp of sorts called the School of New Evangelization. I went last August and had a blast and learned a bunch of new things, but I'm almost feeling like I did the first time. Like I don't know what to expect. It's probably better that way. It usually is works out better to just take it as it comes, so that's what I'm trying to go for this time.

The trip up there is perhaps the most stressful thing to think about. Last time we made the trip anything that could go wrong, did go wrong, and it really got to a lot of people. Ironic that I was in such a good mood almost the whole time, no? That stuff usually gets to me, but I was fine. Shoot, I had almost more fun getting there then actually being there!

Almost.

The difference between SNE this year and last year is that this year we are training to be in a Household sponsered by Saint Paul's Outreach (SPO). I'm assuming that the only real difference is learning to live a Christian lifestyle vs. learning to live a Christian lifestyle among other Christians. In any case, they will be preparing us to live together through the next school year and to keep our faith strong.

I am looking forward to next semester. Although I've had some difficulties with this type of living arrangement before, I really like the guys I'll be living with and I am excited to see what everyone brings to the table. I'm living with seven other guys, and no two of us are even remotely alike, so I'm pumped to get to know the gang and see what we're capable of. We're all Catholic men, we're all college students, and by coming together we share a similarity of purpose in our faith life. Those three things are enough to do some amazing things together, I'm sure of it.
